In 2015, the ONU approved the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development, a commitment that seeks collaboration between governments, the private sector and civil society to achieve global objectives that contribute to shaping more just societies in increasingly sustainable environments.
The agenda has 17 Sustainable Development Goals that try to influence the effects of climate change, economic and social inequality, innovation, the sustainability of productive systems and consumption habits and build structures that guarantee peace and Justice. Copcisa industrial contribution to sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals is more concrete relevant in 6 SDGs:
Commitment to improving energy performance, promoting the use of electrical machinery, eco and zero vehicles and the calculation of the carbon footprint. Boosting renewable self-consumption with the R + D + i project for the implementation of self-sufficient work huts with photovoltaic panels.
Creation of value in the geographical areas where it is present as an economic and social engine, through the development of infrastructures. Promotion of innovation in the development of more sustainable infrastructures, with the application of new construction processes and the use of new materials
The evaluation and decision-making processes are reinforced thanks to a process of systematic monitoring and control of consumption through environmental indicators. Implementation of the selective separation of waste, enhancement of recovery and recycling to reduce the consumption of raw materials. Promotion of the purchase of materials with eco-labels. Specific training on responsible consumption and waste management. Reduction in paper consumption thanks to the implementation of management digitization processes.
Application of energy efficiency and saving criteria in the activity. Replacement of luminaires with LED technology. Expansion of clean points in work centers. Reduction of CO2 emissions until reaching carbon neutrality in 2050. Progressive implementation of the ISO 50001 energy certification system. Adherence to the Carbon Footprint Registry of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Identification and analysis of the environmental impacts derived from the activity. Preventive measures for the protection of biodiversity (flora and fauna): preliminary delimitations, protection of species and unique areas, vegetation transplants, environmental restorations, reforestations, respect for the reproductive cycle of species, placement of nest boxes and hotels insects, restoration of specific habitats and fire prevention.
Solid principles of business transparency. Procedures for the Management of Criminal Risks and for the prevention of money laundering, controlled by the Risk Management Monitoring Committee. Code of Ethics that includes the principles, practices, behaviors and conducts that should govern and guide the conduct of the organization's employees.
